First win for 2nd team

This week saw East London 3rds travel down to Central Park for their Merit 6 West fixture. After the usual scramble for the only 2 size medium shirts in the kit bag, the lads warmed up and kicked off.

The game started off fast paced from both teams, Dagenham drew first blood when they drew in the East London’s defence before shipping the ball wide to Gary Francis on the wing.

East London replied straight away with them kicking the ball deep into Dagenham’s 22 and running a few phases before trundling over the line.

The D’s responded again with Dylan Ramirez running through on the wing with East London getting a score of their own. This really was end to end stuff!

East London kept pushing but there were some great tackles going in on defence from the likes of Ryan King and Ryan Davidson. Jack Andrews also holding up the ball over the line on one occasion!

Before the break Aaron Brosnan again went over on the wing and fly-half James Hogg darted through the East London defence to give a half-time core of 22-12.

In the second half the hosts found some rhythm. Great line-out catching from George Wren and counter-rucking from the forwards meant they were able to get more possession.

This possession was turned into points as Dagenham were able to see the game out. More tries came from Hogg, Francis and Ramirez who scored by ruthlessly running around the entire East London 15, resembling something from Squid Game! “East London Eliminated”

Well done to everyone including a couple of debutants Taz Junior and Tom Cane who both went on some great runs. Unfortunately Tom suffered a nasty injury with the last play of the game so we wish him a speedy recovery.
